How do you cleanse a magickal ring?

Lets say it already had been made and bound with a spell by someone else, but has had previous owners and you are feeling iffy about the energy of the ring.How do you cleanse a magickal ring?
The easiest way is to leave the ring for a few days in a small bowl of sea salt. When you have finished with the salt,get rid of it,outside your property,preferably in running water,river,ocean,whatever.How do you cleanse a magickal ring?

There are many ways to do this you could,


Bury the ring in the earth as the earth will pretty much neutralize its energy to the earths own. You could soak it in sun rays or moon lite. You could perform any number of elaborate cleansing spells, Put it in a box of salt(again with the earth thing) not so hard really.
There's no ';k'; in magical. It just looks goofy.
