Tell me about colon cleansing...please?

Hi Lotusdell

THe answers on this website really show how ignorant we are in cleaning out the toxins out of the body. The average american has one bowel movement every 2 days and almost everywhere else in the world is 30 minutes after eating! If toxins are sitting in the colon where are they suppose to go? They get in the blood and that is main reason we get illness and disease. We Americans eat so much food that is processed and has all types of chemicals in them. It's no wonder we lead the world in the most types of diseases known. Because we have them all!

To answer your question; the process is to get herbs that help give you regular bowel movements and that helps clean out the colon. You can do this effectively with a 5-10 day cleanse by eating organic fruits and vegetables (better yet juicing them) and using herbs to help clear the toxins.

Here are a few websites that I recommend their plan. Id also be happy to give you more info. Ive done several cleanses over the years.

Hello:

There is a lot of debate about the safety of colon cleansing. Essentially what it is, it's a douche of the colon. A long tube/hose is inserted into your rectum and warm water (sometimes other things are added) is squirted under pressure so the water reaches as far into the colon as possible.

I do a lot of alternative medicine in my practice, however, I do not recommend colon cleansing. The reason is that you have many different types of bacteria in the colon, including E. coli. These bacteria are important because they prevent other more virulent bacteria from growing there. If you wash out the good protective bacteria, then the really bad bacteria can overgrow and cause severe infections, diarrhea, bleeding, perforation of the colon, colitis, intestinal blockage, scarring (I could go on and on......).

So my advice to you is if you are concerned about having a healthy colon, stay away from this procedure and increase your bulk fiber intake, drink lots of water, eat less red meat, exercise and if you are overweight, drop some pounds. Take fish oil capsules (omega 3 fatty acids), a multivitamin and if you are 50 years old or more, get a colonoscopy every ten years, sooner if you have a first degree relative who had colon cancer. If you ever see blood in your stool or on the toilet paper after wiping, see your doctor who will probably send you to get either a sigmoidoscopy or a colonoscopy.

I hope this helped answer your question.

Best regards and good health to you.
